When my mom used to dress me, I had the biggest two puff balls with knockers (do you guys remember those lol), a cute top, a pair of jeans, and some cute shoes. Oh and you couldn't catch me without a pair of sun glasses lol. Once my mom started to let me dress myself it was an interesting journey to say the least. I went through different phases as I got older. Every girl goes through a "tom boy" phase right? I remember for a while I would wear nothing but sweat pants and hoodies with converse. I refused to wear dresses or skirts and you couldn't catch me in bright colors. Then I went through a sneaker phase. When I had to have all of the newest sneakers that came out. I would say my junior year of high school is when I started to become fashionable lol. Even though jeans are still my go-to. I have enough fashion sense now to know when it's time to dress them up or when I can just chill. I would say my closet is pretty versatile. Check out the way I dress down and dress up jeans..What are your favorite pieces in your closet?  What are some of your fashion inspirations ?

I did it, I did it, I finally did it. THE BIG CHOP! Well at least my version of it lol. Ive been transitioning for about a year and a half now, and oh my it has not been a walk thru the park. Constantly having to put heat to my hair so it blends in with my weave is a constant struggle. About a month ago I told myself starting June 1st I was going natural EVERYTHING. I was so over wearing sew ins and braids, I needed something new. So yes that means no weave, no acrylic nails, no eye lash extensions. I wanted to give myself a break, and become more comfortable in my own skin. So first my nails had to go and they've been off for about a month now, and today I finally got the courage to wear my natural hair. After it was washed and blow dried it came past my shoulders. Now my hair is shoulder length and I love it. Just in time for the summer #bobszn.

My mentor recently told me I need to remember why I am doing something or why I started it. What is it about blogging , make up artistry , becoming an esthetician , and modeling that I love? Why have I been having a problem with consistency and staying motivated ? I had to ask myself the same thing and I know it's because things overwhelm me a lot.

I stated in my previous post that in the month of February I would work on my consistency with NotEnoughCoffee. One of the things I noticed I was struggling with is being open. I started this blog to post about my everyday life and the things I go through that I know other people could relate to or may relate to, yet I've been bottled up because I know that entails somewhat putting myself out there.

I have experiences, stories, advice, and etc that I could be sharing so I am going to focus on that and get these posts pumping out.

March Goals :

- consistency with posts and interaction with my supporters
- first vlog on NotEnoughCoffee TV
- first podcast episode of #BoozyBrunch
- building my makeup portfolio
- taking time for myself ( self care , " me time " )
- spring cleaning ( emails , clothes , shoes , relationships )
- eat healthier , drink more water , excercise
- continue building business relationships

What are your March goals ? Are you focusing more on business or personal aspirations this month ?

My biggest problem(s) are time management and procrastination. My goodness, guys I suck. I promised you consistency and I've been all over the place since January 1st. What's a girl got to do to stay on track? If you're like me, with so many ideas and things you want to do and never know where or how to begin, you should probably start with purchasing a planner or desk calendar. Ha, now I did that and guess what? Yep, i'm still the world's greatest procrastinator and its starting to bother me. I hate to not get things done especially once I said that I would so ladies ... I got to be a better goal digger!!

Now I am putting my planner and my phone's calendar into use a little more. It is important to have short and long term goals and not overwhelm yourself with all your ideas, like me..

I am proud of myself for the small things I have accomplished so far this year though. For example, I hosted my first event, which was for #BoozyBrunch. #BoozyBrunch is the all new podcast that Not Enough Coffee will be hosting on iTunes and Soundcloud really soon. The turnout was great and so was the food! I like to eat so you know there was not going to be an event without something to munch on.

I also completed my first phase at Aveda and I am now in phase II and closer to graduating with my Esthetician's license!!

I did another big chop. Yup! I cut my hair AGAIN for the tenth time but I love it. I love how it makes me feel. I am not hiding behind my hair. I love my natural curls. I have to stay off +The Cut Life 's Instagram seriously!!

Any who no matter how big or small the goal is GET IT DONE.

What do I plan to accomplish in February?

  • - Record my first podcast series.
  • - Attend more networking events and support my fellow peers
  • - Give myself two hours outside of work and class to myself ( blog, family, friends,me time )
  • - Consistently post for all of you wonderful readers
  • - Start practicing new makeup techniques on friends/family and build my portfolio

What accomplishments are you proud of so far this year and what are some goals you wish to accomplish? What do you do when procrastination gets the best of you? What are some suggestions to manage time better in your already busy schedule? HELP ME hahaha

Since attending Aveda Institute to receive my license as a Esthetician, I've become more interested in caring for my skin. I've always washed and moisturized my face in the morning and at night, but I never paid attention to the ingredients in certain products. I didn't know that two products that I was using were working against each other or If I actually was using the correct products for my skin type.

My facial skin type is most normal but can also be Normal to Dry or Normal to oil, which also depends on things like the seasons changing or my diet just to give a couple examples. I am not to prone to have acne breakouts. I seldom get breakouts but when I do the causes are usually due to my menstrual, stress, or change in seasons or products.

Daily Skincare Routine :

I use Aveda All Sensitive Creme Cleanser  and Moisturizer to cleanse my face in the morning. I use the same products in the evening unless I am removing makeup. Before I apply my cleanser I will use Garnier's Clean +Soothing Makeup Removing Cleansing Towlettes ( cleanses and refreshes the skin) and then apply my moisturizer. Every so often I will include Aveda Botanical Kinetics Exfoliant after the cleanser and before the moisturizer. This exfoliant comes in liquid form and can be applied with cotton balls, cosmetic wedges, or 4x4 cotton cloths.
On my oily days I cleanse with face with Garnier's Micellar Cleansing Water or Garnier's Clean + Purifying Oil-free Cleansing Towlettes ( removes excess oil, cleanses & refreshes ). I then apply Garnier's Shine Control Cleansing Gel followed by Garnier's Pore Purifying 2-in-1 Clay mask or if I seen a few blackheads I will apply Garnier's Blackhead Eliminating Scrub ( unclogs pores & clears complexion ). Since using these products within my daily skin care routine, I have less blackheads appearing and I am in more control of my face when It is oily. My makeup applies easy and smooth and without makeup my face is always glowing. My complexion has cleared up a lot including darker spots from irritation and popping blackheads in the past. One of my favorite products I use ever so often as well as a treat to my face is the charcoal face mask, Dark Angels, by Lush.

It is important to to know your skin type and which activities in your daily life affect it. I am open to answer  any questions or give suggestions. Follow my beauty IG page ( @_beautybynaee ) for more skincare tips, or to book me if your local ( in Charlotte,NC or surrounding areas ) for a consultation and/or facial. Let's get started on your journey to healthier skin. Did i just plug myself ? YES! I did that. LOL

Pictured below are the products mentioned above:

Ya'll I'm trying but dating, talking, getting to know someone ( or whatever you prefer to call the stage before you're in an actual "committed" or "exclusive" relationship ) is a pain in the ass sometimes. Skkkrrrrt! Before you say anything about "girl, just focus on yourself and your own happiness and it'll come" just know I am always focusing on myself.  *rolls eyes* It is completely okay to focus on one self but still meet new people, feel them out, become FRIENDS and see if something more blossoms from that or if you just meet a really good new friend all while focusing on your career, family, etc .. If you feel like this person is a distraction from focusing on yourself, then they aren't right for you anyways because friends or someone who could potentially be more than a friend, wouldn't want to deter you from shining ( mhmm ) Work hard girl, play later!

Anywho, I just don't get the process these days. Why can't we just hang out and kick it and if something becomes of it FUCKING AWESOME.. These corny ass lines and game that these guys try to come with is getting real tired. I just want someone to be real with me. Oh, lets not forget the disgusting, disrespectful guys. What women are out there entertaining y'all nonsense to the point where you think you can step to me and say the shit you say and get some play? Are y'all really that ignorant? Or have you just never been told that ya tactics aren't cutting it? I need some answers.

Oh look I just got a text..
      *unlocks phone*

SCRUB (After hanging out in a group setting ONE time) : When you gonna get up with me alone? You be playing Naee.. I'm trying to feel on that booty *😏*

     ME: Read at 8:44PM *😒*

AT THAT MOMENT... YOU SHOULD'VE KNOWN YOU FUCKED UP!

     Blocccckedtttt.

Its a turn off , damn .. are y'all getting that yet?
I'm out.

I feel like I've lost my connection doing a lot of things that I really used to enjoy doing . I believe its because I was so lost and always about the person I was in a relationship with. I feel like I put the things that I wanted to do and dreams on hold because I wanted to make sure I was supporting my significant other with their endeavors. Once the relationship was over I begin to actually realize that I had to build myself back up and get back to being me. I can't believe it was so easy for me to get lost in my relationship the way that I did. Just my opinion, but it seems like females are always constantly trying to prove that they are worth it. You have to know how to cook, clean, give your man bomb ass sex, support his dreams, always be on your toes and be a crying shoulder when he comes home wanting to vent to you about his day. That's not even everything expected of you and how dare you not have all of your shit together!

When the shoe was on the other foot and I needed him to provide me with the same, he fell short. I realized I was with someone who was about themselves and only worried about shit that concerned them. I began to feel neglected in the relationship but continued to stay and tried to work on it because I also didn't want to be a quitter. I wanted to know that I attempted to do everything I could before I just said fuck all of this. Of course, the selfishness and the verbal abuse was too much for me and once priorities start getting all fucked up, I knew it was time to let go.

Welp, BIH YOU GUESSED IT ! *lol* That relationship has been dead, its a year later and I'm glad to say I've learned so much about myself in this time. I've grown so much and I have definitely realized how much more my worth is. I've reconnected with good friends, start rebranding myself and I began to act on all the business plans I had. A lot of new opportunities have been brought to be and I feel so blessed.  It is very important to take care and love yourself before you try to take care of and love someone else. Whether you have a relationship or friendship with someone make sure you take the time out to still #loveyourself. What are some things you have went through that made you realize your worth? What are some hobbies that interest you that you can do alone, have 'me' time, and clear your mind?

Last night I decided to try something new for dinner that I've never attempted to cook before. I was sitting in my bed checking my emails because I've definitely been lacking with that. There is no reason my inbox should say over 5000+ emails. ( pet peeve ). Anywho, I receive newsletters from a fellow blogger Janae Raquel, if you aren't aware of who she is, get aware.. she's amazing ( & not only because we have the same first name)! Yesterday she blogged about a dish she had made, Bacon Wrapped Stuffed Chicken Breast  !!! Yum, so I guess the dish was on my mind subconsciously all day because it's all I craved to cook.

What you need :  Source: JanaeRaquel.com

  • FOIL
  • GLASS PAN
  • BACON (beef or pork 3-4 STRIPS)
  • SEASONED CHICKEN BREAST
  • KALE (FEW PIECES)
  • CREAM CHEESE (TABLE SPOON)
  • SHREDDED CHEESE (2 TABLES SPOONS / SLICE)
  • BASIL (PINCH)
  • SALT (2 PINCHES)
  • OLIVE OIL (DRIZZLE)

What to do :

  • Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
  • Season your chicken breast with the spices of your choice.. I used Six Peppers seasoning, Onion powder, and a creole seasoning.
  • Lay 3-4 strips of bacon down on your cutting board vertically and place your chicken breast on top.
  • Spread a layer of cream cheese on top of your chicken breast and sprinkle a pinch of basil and a pinch of salt over it or you can mix it in your cream cheese before spreading it on to your chicken breast.
  • Add two layers of the cheese of your liking. I used one layer of sharp cheddar and one layer of mozzarella cheese.
  • Add a few pieces of kale or spinach to the top of your chicken breast.
  • Fold one side of your bacon of your chicken breast and try to tuck it so that it will not come a loose and then fold over the other side of your bacon. You may also use toothpicks to keep in place.
  • If you would like somewhat of a sweet taste, you can sprinkle brown sugar on top of your bacon
  • Place your Bacon Wrapped Stuffed Chicken Breast in your glass pan and cover with foil. Then place in the oven for 40minutes or until your bacon and chicken is cooked to your liking. Midway through cooking, take the foil off the pan for the dish to brown a little.

WAAAH LAAAH!!!!

I also made a side of vegetable medley which includes roasted potatoes, snap peas , red peppers , green peppers, and corn. But, of course you can create whichever side you would like with your meal. It was a hit with my household. Everyone enjoyed it and I definitely had fun making it!

What are you making for dinner tonight ? Please share!

Bon Appetít,

NAEE
